2nd Term Week 2: 17-21 February

Hello Parents!

Our book unit is 'My Toys'. This week we looked at different toys that we could find in our toy box.

I introduced the following words: puzzle, blocks, doll, teddy bear, ball and kite, through the medium of a song from their book. The song is entitled 'In my toy box'.

The pupils learnt the word 'puzzle' through a colouring exercise.

 

 

We also played with puzzles to review the word.

 

 

 

 

The children learnt the word 'blocks' through playing with them and building different coloured towers from them.

 

 

 

Every student created his/her own doll by sticking on clothes and hair and drawing on a face. Lots of fun was had whilst learning the word 'doll'.

 

 

 

 





Through pictures and colouring in exercises the students learnt 'teddy bear' and the importance of sharing.

 

 

We made kites and colour them in to revise primary colours. Then we flew them. Oh what fun we had!

 

 

 

We played a game in which the students take a named object from the toy box. This is our way of revising what we have done this week.

 

 

 

2nd Term Week 1: 10-14 February

Welcome back parents!

I am your new teacher Rosie, and I'm looking forward to meeting you all. In this blog I'll be telling you what we are doing in class every week. I'll be sharing photos of the children in action.

Our new PYP unit is 'Objects in our Life'. This week we looked at vehicles (bus, car, lorry) and traffic lights . We also learnt big and small.

We made a bus and everyone made and stuck their own face on the side of the bus.

We looked at the idea of big and small on a worksheet I have prepared and then coloured in the cars according to their size (blue for small and red for big).

We even had time for 'practical car lessons'.
